Dear 8th Grade Families~
We are so #YETIexcited to celebrate your student’s accomplishments in middle school here at BVIS. The goal of this communication is to ensure you are informed and prepared for our upcoming Continuation events.
This year, we are looking to make continuation week EXTRA special for our scholars! Due to COVID, our current 8th graders have not had the “typical” middle school experience and have missed out on celebrations, field trips and experiential learning opportunities. Ms. Papstein, our 8th grade Team Lead, has started a Go Fund Me fundraiser to help cover out of pocket costs for our scholars. Please click on the link below if you are able to donate. As we get closer to these dates, more details and permission slips will be distributed to those Scholars who are eligible and meeting expectations for Continuation. See below for the Continuation participation requirements for both the field trip as well as the actual ceremony.

In order to be eligible for continuation**, scholars will need to:
iCAP is a student portal of questions that allows students to think through their goals and future plans.
This is a requirement for all DPS students.
**All 8th graders will complete 8th grade, but scholars who do not meet these requirements will not be allowed at field trips nor able to walk at the ceremony at JFK on 5/25/22.
