8th Grade No Technology Weeks

8th Grade Families, 

Our team will be completing an audit of our 8th graders technology in the coming weeks. From Monday February 13th- Friday February 24th, students will not have access to their chromebooks, and therefore will not be able to take their devices home either. 

This is opportunity for our team to:

1. Hold students accountable for their devices to ensure they are prepared for high school
2. Teach meaningful lessons around technology responsibility
3. Check for damages, battery issues and broken screens
4. Have 1:1 conferences with students who habitually need loaner chromebooks
5. Ensure all students have a working device for CMAS and the remainder of the year 

Here is how you can help:

1. Ensure all devices are brought to school on Monday February 13th
2. Contact your scholar’s LC mentor with any questions or email bvoffice@dpsk12.org
3. Ensure your student is using their chromebook properly and encourage them to report any issues to their LC mentor immediately.

Please know that students will be able to access their chromebooks during working lunch or after school tutoring if they need to work on missing or incomplete work. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact  the front office directly.
