Warmest welcome to our new scholars and their families to the Bear Valley community, proud home of the Yetis!
We are thrilled that you have selected our school to support and nurture the important life passage known as middle school. This is a critical stage in a student’s life and it begins to shape who they become in the future.
During your students years as a Bear Valley student we will ensure that they are academically prepared for high school and college options, as well as aiding them through this adolescent transition with robust mental health and wellness resources supporting the whole child.
Students will also be able to participate in a host of clubs, sports, activities and build life-long student and staff relationships during their years here!

BVIS 23-24 bell schedule is 8:50 am 3:50 pm
Cafe doors will open at 8:30am to allow access to a FREE breakfast.
All other students must enter the building no later than 8:45 to allow enough time to be in their 1st classroom seat by 8:50am.
Breakfast will not be available for students arriving later than 8:30am as no grab and go options will be available
Bear Valley has unique calendar dates. It is important to note that our calendar looks different from the traditional DPS calendar.
This will be shared with you no later than the 3rd week of May!
We start earlier than other DPS schools so we can start our summer sooner 😉
Also allows us to prioritize orientation days to provide purposeful time for relationship building and system practices
6th grade 1st day Wednesday August 16th
7th grade 1st day Thursday August 17th
8th grade 1st day Friday August 18th
DPS online early registration opens next week! Early Bird ONLINE Registration is coming up on May 8th through May 19th. Parents/guardians must have access to or create a Parent Portal Account in order to complete the online registration.
To register online, sign in to Parent Portal, click on “See All Apps,” then click on “Online Registration” to verify or update your student’s information. Online registration can only be completed by the parent/guardian listed in the primary household of the student record.
If you have issues with your Parent Portal Account you can contact Parent Portal @ 720-423-3163. Completing online registration during the Early Bird window automatically locks your child’s placement in for next school year!.
And finally we hope you can join us at our annual Spring Yeti Fest on Thursday May 11th from 5:00pm – 6:30pm. This #yetitastic event is a celebration and culminating scholar showcase of all their amazing talents and projects our students have worked on throughout the year.
