Warmest welcome to our new students and their families to Bear Valley International Middle School, proud home of the Yetis! We are so #yetiready to have you join our community!

We are thrilled that you have selected our school to support and nurture the important life passage known as middle school. This is a critical stage in a student’s life and it begins to shape who they become in the future. 

During your students years as a Bear Valley student we will ensure that they are academically prepared for high school and college options, as well as aiding them through this adolescent transition with robust mental health and wellness resources supporting the whole child. 

Students will also be able to participate in a host of clubs, sports, activities and build life-long student and staff relationships during their years here!

Below outlines some initial information we feel will be useful.  PLEASE reach out using any of the options below if you have further questions!

Information you need now!

  • BVIS 24-25 bell schedule is 8:50 am 3:50 pm
    • Students must enter the building no later than 8:45 to allow enough time to be in their 1st classroom seat by 8:50am.
      • FREE Grab N Go Breakfasts will be available for all students to consume during their 1st period, Learning Community.
  • Bear Valley has unique calendar dates!  It is important to note that our calendar looks different from the traditional DPS calendar. We start earlier than other DPS schools so we can start our summer sooner!
    • This full calendar will be shared with you no later than the 3rd week of May 
      • These early start days allows us to prioritize orientation days to provide purposeful time for relationship building and system practices!
        • 6th grade 1st day is Thursday August 15th 2024
        • 7th grade 1st day is Friday August 16th 2024
        • 8th grade 1st day is Friday August 16th 2024
  • The DPS Early Bird Registration window does open next Monday, May 6. The window will be open until May 24.
    • Click on this Family Navigation Guide to access high-level instructions (in numerous languages on how to complete the online registration.
      • Parents/guardians must have access to or create a Parent Portal Account in order to complete the online registration. 
      • To register online, sign in to Parent Portal, click on “See All Apps,” then click on “Online Registration” to verify or update your student’s information. Online registration can only be completed by the parent/guardian listed in the primary household of the student record
      • If you have issues with your Parent Portal Account you can contact Parent Portal @ 720-423-3163. Completing online registration during the Early Bird window automatically locks your child’s placement in for next school year!.

1st is our Spring Musical The Lion King Jr!

  • Wednesday May 8 @ 5:30pm or
  • Thursday May 9 @ 6:00 pm

Our Yeti To Shine Theatre department has been working YETI hard on our upcoming spring music performance, The Lion King Jr. In addition thanks to Mr. Footes philanthropy we have been able to afford professional costumes as well as enhanced set design!

We hope you can join us at one of the two performance dates, OR BOTH! All students/children are free and adults are $5 each night. Any student under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

2nd is annual Spring Yeti Fest on Wednesday May 15th from 5:00pm – 6:30pm. 

This #yetitastic event is a celebration and culminating scholar showcase of all their amazing talents (Band, Choir, Art, STEM and Physical Education) and projects our students have worked on throughout the year.
