Welcome back, Yeti Fam! As we gear up for a #YETITASTIC new school year, we want to share some important information to help you and your student start strong. From schedules and supplies to dress code and upcoming events, the below headers will keep you informed and ready for a smooth, successful year ahead. Let’s make this our best year yet(i)!
If your child does not plan on attending BVMS please be sure to contact the main office at 720-423-9600 or email at bvoffice@dpsk12.org if you haven’t already. By Colorado law, we are legally required to confirm enrollment at the new school before we can dis-enroll. We appreciate this information sooner than later to help us pull students off our waitlist.
As previously communicated, the DPS Online Registration is now back open via the DPS Parent Portal to finalize your child’s seat here at Bear Valley Middle School. Thank you to all the families who have already completed this task through the DPS Parent Portal.
If you are unable to finalize this at home using your DPS parent Portal Account (see below for tips and hints), please see below for Walk-In Registration dates where our front office staff can support you in completing this required task. This should take roughly 30 minutes.
Online registration is completed by signing into Parent Portal. If you do not have a Parent Portal account, you can create one here. After you sign in to Parent Portal, click on “See All Apps,” then click on “Online Registration” (towards the bottom of the list of apps) to complete the process. Online registration can only be completed by the parent/guardian listed in the primary household of the student record.

We hope all our families can join us on Thursday August 14th from 4-6pm for our Welcome Back to School Night. To ensure everyone’s comfort during our event, please limit the family members that attend (especially small children), as space is limited.
NEW FOR 25-26 school year, Students who are found out of dress code 3 times in a quarter will be assigned 1 day of In-School Suspension. Please ensure your child reviews all their pieces of clothing to divide what is school appropriate and what is weekend wear! We appreciate your support checking their attire before they leave school to avoid earning a strike.
Understanding what is and isn’t allowed at school helps ensure everyone feels comfortable and focused on learning. To keep things fun and engaging, we will also offer various free dress opportunities and spirit weeks throughout the year, giving students a chance to express themselves while still respecting our guidelines.

Please ensure your child has the minimal items required on our school supply list. Having the right supplies helps students stay prepared and focused, supporting their success both in and out of the classroom.
If your family needs financial support to secure these items, please email bvoffice@dpsk12.org. In turn, if your family is in a financial position to provide extra supplies, please contact Mama Yeti.

We kindly ask for you to schedule any appointments and or travel times during our established no-school days whenever possible. This helps your student stay on track with attendance and academic progress, ensuring they don’t miss valuable learning time or fall behind in reaching important goals like quarterly celebrations and Continuation eligibility.

The DPS Board of Education in May 2021 passed a resolution to have all middle schools and high schools (district-managed and charters) start no earlier than 8:20 a.m. each school day to support healthy sleep habits in adolescents.
Thank you for supporting punctuality and helping us create the best learning environment for all students!
During the 2025/2026 school year, all students will be able to receive a complete FREE breakfast and lunch for no cost. Students must bring money or have money in their MySchoolBucks accounts to purchase things like second entrees and/or a la carte items. All families are still strongly encouraged to complete an application for their household as the information determines critical funding for Denver Public Schools and a qualifying application may make the student eligible for other benefits.
If you are interested in learning more about eligibility for yellow bus schedules, please contact DPS Transportation directly at 720-423-9600 or email them at transportation@dpsk12.org. Please note that individual schools do not manage the routing nor are we informed yet about which routes will be active for the upcoming school year.
