Adiós 6th & 7th graders!

Posted May 26, 2022

Tomorrow, Friday 5/27, we are looking forward to a fun and joyful last day of school, dismissing at 11:30am. Please ensure you promptly pick up your child so they can start their summer break! All DPS bus riders will be picked up at 11:30 as well!

Field day is about fun and connecting with peers but safety is our utmost priority.  This means we will have a zero tolerance policy for disruptive or defiant behaviors, this includes play fighting and leaving designated areas. If they are identified as acting in a negative way they will need to be picked up by a family member over 18 years old.

Discuss with your child that any inappropriate behavior will result in consequences for the 1st week of school, either here or will be communicated to their futures schools.

Scholars should leave backpacks and Chromebooks (see more info below) at home on Friday! If any scholar brings a backpack of any size to school we will ask them to leave in the front office until dismissal. Please ensure they bring a water bottle to keep them hydrated during field day.

If your child is returning to a DPS school, they will keep their Chromebooks. Please ensure over the summer that it is safe and accounted for as any lost or damages will result in $20-$250 invoices. This includes the charger.

If your child is moving out of district or going to a DPS Charter school they will need to relinquish their computer. They can do so on Thursday or bring the computer and the charger to the front office on Friday morning as they arrive.

We will be sending communication next week about the 22-23 school year (unique calendar, dress code, school supplies, registration etc). For the time being we wanted to ensure you had your calendar marked for our August start dates:

  • 1st day of school for 6th* = Wednesday August 17th, 2022
  • 1st day of school for 7th* = Thursday August 18th, 2022
  • 1st day of school for 8th* = Friday August 19th, 2022
