CMAS UPDATE!

Hello Bear Valley Families,

This is a reminder that Bear Valley students will be taking Colorado Measure of Academic Success (CMAS) assessments next week April 18th thru April 22nd. 

These assessments focus on the knowledge and skills our kids need for success in their years beyond middle school and high school, including skills such as analytical thinking and the ability to solve complex problems.

The CMAS assessments focus on three different content areas depending upon the grade your student is in:

  • English Language Arts (ELA) and Math – 6th, 7th and 8th grade
  • Science – 8th grade 

We want to help parents and families with information to support student success during this time. These assessments will give our teachers critical information to help our students be on track for college and career readiness and help us understand whether our students have the necessary skills to succeed after high school.

We will be running on a modified schedule Monday April 18th thru Friday April 22nd! Morning entry will remain the same but we will be releasing students at 1:30pm each day of the week during this testing week. Students that take DPS transportation will be picked up from schools at 1:30 from BVIS this week.

On each day of testing, please help ensure your student is on time and ready to do their best on CMAS by…

  • Getting a good night’s sleep
  • Eating a healthy breakfast
  • Avoiding scheduling doctor’s appointments on testing days
  • Bringing their fully charged, school-issued Chromebook to school each day for testing. 

** Please ensure your scholar is on time and your scholar’s chromebook is plugged in each night. 

In the event that your student has to miss a day, they will have to make up the test another time and will be pulled during their instructional time to do so.
