For Youth By Youth Art Showcase & Contest

Calling all Denver youth artists grades 5 to 12 to create safety-themed coloring pages for the For Youth By YouthArt Showcase and Contest.
Coloring pages will be shared with elementary aged youth to color and learn safety tips. Twelve artists will win a $50 gift card, meet Chief Thomas, and receive a private tour of Denver Police’s Crime Lab.
Coloring pages should be drawn to reflect one of the following safety themes:
- Respect Animals — Be kind to wildlife and ask for permission before petting an animal you are not familiar with.
- Bicycle safety – Wear a helmet, obey traffic rules, use lights and reflectors when riding after dark.
- Get Involved — Learn about safety.
- Traffic Safety — Only cross the street in designated areas. Obey traffic signs and signals.
- Stranger Danger — You do not have to answer questions or talk to strangers you do not know.
- Say No To Drugs and Alcohol
- Call 911 – For Emergencies that need a police, fire, or paramedic response.
- Make a Safety Plan — Know what to do and where to go in case of an emergency.
- Say No To Bullying — Kindness helps to de-escalate.
- Stay Hydrated — It’s important to drink water, especially on hot days.
