Hello Bear Valley families,
In just a couple of weeks, Bear Valley scholars will be taking their Interim Assessments. These assessments provide students the chance to demonstrate the many skills they have been practicing and the content learned throughout the first semester. It is more vital than ever to ensure we measure student success, so we can best support scholars during the second half of the year. The data we gain from these assessments helps us determine our next steps in instructional and provides information on how to better support individual student needs.
We will be giving Interim Assessments the week of December 7th. The Literacy Assessment will be on Wed, Dec. 9th. The Math Assessment will be on Thursday, Dec.10th. On the assessment days, students will log in like normal at 8:30 and complete their assessment during the first half of the day. During the second half of the day, students will work on their IA, Social Studies, and/or Science course work asynchronously. This will also be a great opportunity for students to make-up any missing assignments or revise previous work as the quarter is about to wrap up.
Ways to support your scholar during testing will be sent out closer to testing, but we wanted you to have these important dates on your calendars.

En un par de semanas, los estudiantes de Bear Valley tomarán sus exámenes interinos. Estos exámenes brindan a los estudiantes la oportunidad de demostrar las muchas habilidades que han estado practicando y el contenido aprendido durante el primer semestre. Es más vital que nunca asegurar que midamos el éxito de los estudiantes, para que podamos apoyar mejor a los estudiantes durante el segundo semestre. Los datos que obtenemos de estos exámenes nos ayudan a determinar nuestros próximos pasos en la instrucción y brindan información sobre cómo podemos apoyar mejor las necesidades individuales de los estudiantes.
Los exámenes interinos se administrarán en la semana del 7 de diciembre. El examen de lectura será el miércoles 9 de diciembre. El examen de matemáticas será el jueves 10 de diciembre. En los días de examen los estudiantes se conectarán a la hora normal 8:30 am y tomarán los exámenes durante la primera mitad del día. Durante la segunda mitad del día los estudiantes trabajaran en clases integradas y estudios sociales o ciencias asincrónicamente. Esta también será una gran oportunidad para que los estudiantes terminen y entreguen tareas que aun tengan pendientes ya que el trimestre está a punto de terminar.
Las formas de como apoyar a su estudiante durante los exámenes se enviarán más cuando la fecha se aproxime, por lo pronto queremos que tenga estas fechas importantes en sus calendarios.
